Hello, welcome to my website!

My name is Veronica Gesteira, I am a music producer, engineer, artist and researcher based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

My journey has been entirely shaped by my passion for both the arts and the sciences. I taught myself guitar while I was still a child and, from the urge of recording myself, I went on to discovering the DAW, music production and all its wonders. I pursued a bachelor in electrical engineering at the State University of Campinas with a concentration in Sound Engineering. During this time I also started my path as a DJ and independent music producer, remixing and producing for a lot of amazing artists.

As I delve deeper into the music production world, the engineering side of music started to appeal to me more and more. I had the amazing opportunity of being a mixing assistant to Rafael Fadul and learned a lot about mixing at the highest level to artists like Lady Gaga, Pabllo Vittar and Jão. Parallel to that, I had the opportunity to be a part of workshops with Brazilian audio legends like Beto Neves and Pedro Peixoto.

As a way to deepen my artistic and technological research, I went into a Masters degree at the State University of Campinas, advised by Bruno Masiero, researching about the state of art of AI on Music Mixing. As a part of my thesis, I trained different AI models for the mixing task and also conducted a perception study on mixes made by humans and made by the AI models.

Next, I did a masters in Music Production, Technology and Innovation at the Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. My thesis, advised by Marta Verde, consisted in a experimental synthesizer, powered by neural timber-transfer and granular synthesis. I got selected in an open call to perform it at the conference Sonár D+ in Barcelona. I graduated with the highest honors and was awarded both the Outstanding Scholar Award and the Peer Recognition Award.

Currently, I live and work in Sao Paulo, Brazil collaborating with people from all around the world!
